Here at ST Sports and Wellbeing, we believe in a comprehensive approach to sports massage and injury rehabilitation.
At our private massage clinics in Christchurch, Dorset and Hythe, Hampshire we offer top range techniques to get you out of pain, while equipping you with the knowledge of prevention so you can successfully manage your pain at home and in-between appointments.
After extensive assessment, your therapist will tailor your treatment to your needs - with the main goal in mind to get you out of pain and moving better than when you first walked through the door. And leaving you with a greater understanding of your body, so you can understand why and how the pain is occurring to allow you to take back control of your pain.
Whether you have been suffering with chronic pain conditions, general aches and pains, new or old injuries, extensive or minor scar tissue - ST Sports and Wellbeing has got you covered.
We offer FREE 15 minute consultations to discuss your pain, and whether sports massage will be the right decision for you, with no pressure to commit a follow up. Alternatively, you can book a New Patient appointment if you would like to jump straight in!
In your first treatment at ST Sports and Wellbeing, we will take your medical and injury history to get a clearer picture of your pain as well as making sure there are no conditions preventing massage or having to modify your treatment.
After this, your therapist will conduct an in depth assessment, to include a postural analysis, movement tests and special tests to determine the cause of your problem. As we will need to see how your muscles and joints look, we advise that women wear a bra and shorts (or going down to their underwear if comfortable to do so) and men to wear shorts (or go down to their boxers if comfortable to do so)
We will then proceed with hands on therapy to remove areas of tightness that are causing you discomfort. Sports massage should never be painful, however there are a few techniques that are more uncomfortable than others - and your therapist will guide you through these if they are needed within treatment. Some technqiues can make you feel a little sore for the next 48hours, but again, your therapist will make sure to give you aftercare.
After the treatment is over your therapist will talk you through a treatment plan and give you strength and conditioning exercises to keep you out of pain for longer.
